CARES welcomes outstanding undergraduates and post graduated with a keen interest to participate in our internship programme. In May 2016, Sng Yi Ren, a third year Chemical Engineering undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS), joined C4T IRP3 for 12 weeks during his summer vacation.

Yi Ren shared, “Joining the J-Park Simulator team at Cambridge CARES has allowed me to learn much about this immense project being undertaken at this research institute. Numerous engineering and computer science disciplines come together to bring this project to life. In the three months here, I worked with ArcGIS, parametrisation, Java and C# coding, ontology development, and learned more about chemical plants and how they operate. I was also able to contribute in the form of 3D visualisation as well as selecting a new platform to work on with regard to the J-Park Simulator. I was also given the opportunity to work with a team of knowledgeable and dedicated students and professionals, in a welcoming and friendly office environment.”

He also added, “Work here has been challenging but interesting, and is a perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to develop skills in a variety of areas, as well as see meaningful results produced from your work. I would recommend an internship with CARES to students who are willing to learn new skills and desire the freedom to explore a diverse selection of engineering disciplines.”

For further information, interested students should contact our HR Executive, Ms Leong Xiang Ning.
