InnovFest x Elevating Founders is Asia’s leading innovation conference. To promote entrepreneurship in the region, it brings together start-ups from around the world to share exciting new technologies and ideas. For this reason, Prof Markus Kraft was invited to give a keynote talk on the World Avatar project and the research conducted at CARES.

Organised by NUS Enterprise, in partnership with Informa Tech, the hybrid event took place from 1-3 June 2022 and had more than 11,000 physical delegates, with thousands more attending online. Held at the Singapore Expo, there were more than 330 exhibitors, 42,000 virtual booth visits and 46,000 connection requests over the entire event. Pavilions of countries exhibiting included Canada, China, France, and South Korea.

In his keynote, Prof Kraft spoke about the technology behind the World Avatar and how knowledge graphs can lead to interoperability between diverse software and datasets. He gave examples of how the World Avatar can be applied in everything from quantum chemistry to flood prediction. To end, he explained how the World Avatar could be a way to meet CO2 reduction targets with Intelligent Decarbonisation.
