Highly Cited Researchers are one in 1,000 in the world of scientists and social scientists. When considering this slim probability, CARES is delighted that five of our experts were among those listed in Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers of 2022.

The list assesses researchers by the production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science. This could be in a single field or a Cross-Field category where a researcher has demonstrated strong multidisciplinary influence by contributing to highly cited papers across several different fields. Clarivate recognises these individuals as true pioneers in their fields over the last decade.

The list of recognised CARES scientists from the C4T decarbonisation programme is listed below:
Assoc Prof Yan Ning in the Cross-Field category – PI in sustainable reaction engineering
Prof Wang Xin in the Cross-Field category – PI in electrosynthetic pathways for advanced low-carbon chemical manufacturing
Prof Manish Chhowalla in the field of Materials Science – Co-I in sustainable reaction engineering
Prof Zhichuan Xu (Jason) in the field of Materials Science – Co-I in sustainable reaction engineering

The recognised CARES expert from the CLIC programme is listed below:
– Prof Trevor Robbins in the field of Neuroscience and Behaviour – Senior Scientific Advisor for CLIC studying cognitive flexibility across the life course

CARES Director Prof Markus Kraft adds, “This is an incredible honour for CARES that we have a number of highly influential individuals recognised for the knowledge and talent they bring to their respective fields. I am thrilled that our C4T and CLIC programme can benefit from their guidance.”
