On Friday 15 September, the Cities Knowledge Graph team, held their Completion Event to celebrate their outstanding achievements over the project’s lifetime and to showcase the capabilities of the Cities Knowledge Graph – a dynamic knowledge graph which combines multi-domain data to share knowledge about cities.
As an Intra-CREATE project, Cities Knowledge Graph is a joint collaboration between CARES and the Singapore-ETH Centre. More than 150 in-person and online attendees from industry, government, and academia were treated to presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions.
After the opening remarks, Dr Pieter Herthogs described the project’s latest accomplishments. Then, attendees were given a hands-on demonstration of its uses, ranging from a search engine for Singapore’s land use to a knowledge-graph-based digital twin of the campus of Nanyang Technological University.
Pictured are attendees enjoying the interactive aspect of the demonstrators.
After the live demonstration session, Dr Aurel von Richthofen from Arup, Germany, spoke about digital urban solutions and the digital needs of cities more generally. Finally, Prof Markus Kraft gave an overview of the World Avatar, which goes beyond solutions for cities and applies dynamic knowledge graphs to everything from quantum calculations to countrywide simulations.
Our location in CREATE has not only facilitated many memorable events but allowed CARES the ability to collaborate with our building partners on unique Intra-CREATE grants such as these.
