CARES is delighted that our researcher, Phua Shin Zert, has joined the prestigious Gates Cambridge scholar cohort, class of 2025.

Shin Zert will be pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence at the University of Cambridge through support from the Gates Cambridge scholarship and the Fitzwilliam College Hong Leong – Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship for 2025.

As part of Gates Cambridge’s 25th anniversary in 2025, the Trust awarded 25 additional scholarships and held an international interview round that took place for the first time in Singapore with support from CARES.

Shin Zert is now the 18th Malaysian to become a Gates scholar, and he will soon join the cohort of 95 new scholars pursuing their postgraduate studies in Cambridge.
