The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Fellowship represents the UK’s best engineering researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, business and industry leaders. Fellows are typically elected each year in recognition of their outstanding and continuing contributions to the profession.
CARES would like to congratulate Prof Swami Swaminathan for being recognised as a leading global expert in the physics and chemistry of turbulent reacting flows, their modelling and simulations.
“I am delighted by this honour from my peers and feel humbled by the Academy election. This couldn’t have happened without the contributions from my students, colleagues, and collaborators, and I like to say thanks to all of them. Also, I feel privileged to be in an environment with bright, fun-filled and productive members located in various parts of the world.”
Prof Swami Swaminathan’s work in researching new, robust designs for “green combustion systems” is important for the Hydrogen and Ammonia Combustion in Singapore (HYCOMBS) programme at CARES, which he manages as a Principal Investigator.
Prof Swaminathan now joins the other 2 Cambridge Principal Investigators in the programme, Prof Markus Kraft and Prof Epaminondas Mastorakos, who have all received this prestigious Fellowship.
