Profile

Prof Gehan AMARATUNGA

Co-Principal Investigator

Prof Amaratunga is Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Cambridge and heads the Electronics, Power and Energy Conversion research grouping. His research is in the broad area of materials and technologies for electrical energy and power. It intersects electrical and electronic engineering with chemistry, physics, materials science and information systems. He has published over 550 archived journal and conference papers in these topics ( >13,000 citations, H-index 65).

Prof Amaratunga is also the co-founder of five start-up companies which have collectively raised more than S$150M in investment. Two of these have successfully commercialised products in the global market and been acquired by their competitors.

Prof Amaratunga was a Co-I on the C4T programme.
