Dr Ka Lok CHAN
Research Fellow
Dr Chan Ka Lok is a computational chemist with a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on the mechanistic studies of reactions mainly involving organocatalysts and novel aluminium complexes. With a passion for machine learning, he also integrates domain knowledge with neural network to predict chemical reaction properties.
He joined CARES and the SM3 project in 2025 under Asst Prof Philippe Schwaller, to leverage large language models and AI agents for identifying promising reactions, guiding experiments, and accelerating reaction discovery based on previous knowledge.
