Dr Kumaran ELUMALAI

Research Fellow

Dr. Kumaran is a Research Fellow at Cambridge CARES, specializing in synthetic chemistry and catalysis. He earned his MSc in Organic Chemistry (2006) from the University of Madras, India, and his PhD in Chemistry (2014) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He continued as a postdoctoral researcher at the same university until October 2018. He then worked in the pharmaceutical industry and as a postdoctoral researcher for several years before joining CARES in January 2026. His current research focuses on the sustainable manufacture of molecules and materials.
