Profile

Dr Pavlos GKINIS
Research Fellow
Dr Pavlos obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. His research focused on chemical process engineering, transport phenomena, high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling, combined with machine learning for reduced order and data-driven predictive modelling of complex Chemical Vapour Deposition reactors. He has also worked on manifold learning methods on large-scale simulation data, specifically diffusion maps, during his stay at Johns Hopkins University as a Fulbright Scholar.
He joined CARES and the SM3 project in 2025 under Prof Alexei Larkin, to develop and optimise novel sustainable manufacturing processes for high-value molecules and materials, using process systems engineering and machine learning.
