Dr Rakesh MAITI

Research Fellow

Dr Rakesh Maiti is a synthetic organic chemist specializing in catalysis (asymmetric catalysis, photocatalysis, heterogeneous catalysis), and total synthesis of natural products. He earned his M.Sc. from IIT Kanpur, India (2016) and Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2021). He then moved to Europe as postdoctoral research, first at the University of Antwerp, Belgium (BOF-Umbrella Fellowship, 2022), and later as a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Bayreuth, Germany (2023). His current research as a Chemist at CARES focuses on developing next-generation catalytic systems to convert chemical feedstocks into pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals.
