Dr Patrick Butler completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the Australian National University before moving to the University of Southampton to undertake PhD research on the development of computational methods for organic crystal structure prediction. He previously held a research position at the Technical University of Denmark working on algorithms for self-driving laboratories. Patrick has strong interdisciplinary interests spanning computer science, synthesis, and computational chemistry.
