Profile

Dr Miguel CHACON-TERAN

Research Fellow

Dr. Miguel Chacon is a molecular chemist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and over ten years of experience in catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and advanced materials development. His work focuses on translating fundamental mechanistic insights and metal-based system design into scalable physicochemical processes for sustainable materials and industrial applications.

As a startup founder, he bridges chemical innovation and commercialisation, developing proprietary recycling technologies for synthetic fibers and advancing circular solutions on industrial applications. In 2026, he joined Cambridge CARES and the SM3 project under Dr. Ruth Webster to further develop scalable chemical processes for converting food waste into commodity chemicals, combining scientific rigor with real-world implementation.
