Profile

Lek Hong LIM

Chemical Engineer

After completing his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University-Singapore Institute of Technology, Lim Lek Hong (Lex) joined Dr Paul Liu Wen's group for his PhD studies in NTU, through the Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme with Nanyang Environmental and Water Research Institute. His research involved the techno-economic assessment of a "waste-treating-waste" approach using incineration residue for calcium looping CO2 capture. He also explored the sintering behaviour of CO2 sorbent materials through advanced characterisation techniques as well as surface area and densification modelling.

Lex joined the CARES SM3 project in 2025 under Assoc. Prof Ewa Marek, working on techniques in the automation of techno-economic assessments of novel manufacturing processes.
