Marisha UBRANI

Research Assistant

Marisha Barth Ubrani joined the CLIC Neuroimaging Workgroup (WP0.2) in November 2022. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Sunway University (Malaysia) and Lancaster University (UK) in addition to graduating as valedictorian.

Her undergraduate thesis showed the comparable effectiveness of meditation and the internet sensation, Lo-Fi (low fidelity) music, in improving mood and time perception while reducing stress. She managed to link it to the default mode network (DMN) in the brain, draw additional distinctions in gender, and discuss the wider implications of using the internet to improve well-being.

Through her work in projects and volunteer groups, Marisha has also worked with a variety of clinical populations, ranging from patients with dementia and stroke to women facing domestic violence. Research wise, she has authored several articles on various topics such as psychology, education (blended learning), and public policy (corruption, human rights, COVID-19).
