Asst Prof Nicholas GLEADALL

Principal Investigator

Nick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge. In 2020 he was awarded his PhD, having already introduced next-generation sequencing into routine NHS service use for improved pathogen detection and rare disease diagnosis. During his PhD, he developed a new array-based DNA test for comprehensive blood group, platelet (HPA) and tissue type (HLA) typing, and founded the Cambridge-led Blood transfusion Genomics Consortium, a global public–private partnership. He leads on computational and electronic health record aspects for the BloodCounts! consortium.
