Profile

Dr Hao YAN
Research Fellow
Dr. Hao Yan is a Research Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES), National University of Singapore. His research focuses on detonation physics, hypersonic propulsion, and computational fluid dynamics. His current work involves theoretical and numerical investigations of detonation wave dynamics, shock–flame interactions, and combustion phenomena using high-fidelity simulations.
Before joining CARES, he received his Ph.D. from Xiamen University, where his research focused on curved and oblique detonation theory. He has authored numerous journal publications in leading international journals, including the Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physics of Fluids, Chinese Journal of Aeronautics, and Applications in Energy and Combustion Science. His broader research interests include detonation theory, reacting flows, numerical methods, and high-performance computing for combustion simulations.
