Dr Victor LAFAURIE

Dr Victor Lafaurie obtained his PhD from Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau in 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Svetlana Starikovskaia (Laboratory for Plasma Physics) and Dr. Pierre Vidal (Institut P'). His research focused on the interactions between non-equilibrium plasma and combustibles. Specifically, he experimentally investigated the ability for nanosecond plasmas to form gradients of radicals (such as atomic oxygen) across scales of centimeters, and how these gradients could affect ignition of detonation waves at relatively low pressures.

He joined CARES in 2025 as part of the HYCOMBS project under the supervision of Professor Kaoru Maruta and Professor Youhi Morii from the Tohoku University.
