CARES welcomed Tony Dye as the latest speaker for the CARES Commercialisation Series on 25 April to present technology from his company, Epicam, where he is the Director, Founder, and Inventor.

Epicam is an advanced engine development company focused on bringing to market an engine providing post-carbon clean power. The Liquid Air Energy Storage and Regeneration technology, LAESER for short, offers a means to provide renewable energy to the grid at times of peak loading and premium pricing, using liquid air stored through its technology. It can also extract greenhouse gases from its atmospheric working fluid and simultaneously be used for climate mitigation.

As part of the commercialisation aspect of the series, Tony also shares his decades-long journey to commercialise Epicam.

The CARES Commercialisation Series was started by two CARES Research Fellows who are both leading spin-offs from the CARES C4T programme; they thought it would be useful to have a space where researchers from CARES and Cambridge who were planning to commercialise their work could connect and learn more from one another.
